Elisa is implementing Mobile TV
Posted on 19th February 2008 in Telecom |
2 months after the launch of the first commercial UMTS900 network in November 2007, Elisa launched UMTS900 network in Estonia and is now aiming to implement Mobile TV on top of it.
Mobile TV platform will be delivered by Rubberduck Media Lab, the leading technology expert in mobile broadcasting of Scandinavia. Based in Oslo, Norway, Rubberduck co-operates with Telenor, TeliaSonera, Hi3G Sweden & Denmark, BBC, MTV and Fox so the platform will bring a lot of domestic and global content.

“Aiming to implement” is a lot different from “is implementing.” You should shop misleading your readers. I look to Estonian blogs for good, solid stuff not fluff and hearsay. You have tarnished the image of Estonia - that technological wonder - with this non-post.

Disappointed Reader.
It’s just that the process has not yet taken off but the contracts have been signed so it’s a clear initiative.
The reason why I’m referring to ‘aiming to impelement’ is that very likely it’s going to run on UMTS900 to provide high-speed 3G platform for it.
Currently there’s not enough 3G coverage to run Mobile TV effectively throughout the country including rural areas.
